The fourth edition of the HuSNaT conference – Humanities and Social Perspective in Technical Sciences will focus on the relationships between technology, humanity, the environment and culture in the context of sustainable development. The event creates a space for dialogue between representatives of technical sciences, humanities, social sciences and management sciences.
The event is organised by three academic centres: Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Rzeszów University of Technology, and Lublin University of Technology.
The starting point of the conference is the conviction that contemporary technological development cannot be considered solely in terms of efficiency, innovation and technical progress. It also requires reflection on its social, cultural, ethical and environmental consequences. Therefore, HuSNaT 2026 invites researchers, experts and practitioners interested in an interdisciplinary perspective on the challenges of the modern world.
The conference will open with an expert debate dedicated to value creation by organisations in social, cultural and environmental dimensions, with a particular focus on actions for the common good. This will serve as an introduction to a conversation about the responsibility of science, technology, business and public institutions towards civilisational challenges.
This year’s edition will be held in a new, more open and participatory format. The first day of the conference will take place on-site at Wrocław University of Science and Technology and will combine short introductory speeches with work at open thematic roundtables. Each of the panels, dedicated to humanity, the environment and culture, will begin with papers designed to inspire further discussion. Participants will then be able to take part in moderated roundtable discussions, using posters and selected research problems as their starting point.
We particularly encourage the preparation of posters, which will form the basis for a direct exchange of ideas, the presentation of research results and the search for new fields of cooperation. The open roundtable format will allow participants to move freely between topics, engage in various discussions and co-author joint conclusions.
The second day of the conference, 20 October 2026, will be dedicated to paper presentations, which can be delivered either online or on-site.
HuSNaT 2026 is an invitation to a conversation on how to design technologies, organisations and development processes in a responsible, socially sensitive and culturally aware manner. This is a conference for researchers who wish not only to present their work but also to debate, confront perspectives and jointly seek new directions for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Accepted papers, following a positive peer review, will be published in selected scientific journals or a peer-reviewed monograph.

Selected publications, following an initial assessment by the members of the Programme Council, will be forwarded to the editorial boards of the journals listed below or to a peer-reviewed post-conference monograph. Articles will undergo peer review in accordance with the editorial policies of the respective publishers. Information regarding publication fees is provided alongside each title.

The organisers reserve the right to direct conference articles to the specified journals. Authors may indicate their preferences regarding journal choice.
Articles up to 30,000 characters (including spaces) should be prepared in Polish or English and submitted by the strict deadline of 20 October 2026 to the email address: husnat@pwr.edu.pl. At this stage, the text must meet standard editorial requirements. The selection of articles for journal publication will be made by the organising committee, taking into account thematic consistency with the scientific profile of the journal. Following a positive evaluation by the organising committee, authors will be requested to adapt their text to the requirements specified by the journal and submit it to the indicated editorial office, marked “Husnat”. Publication of the article in the monograph or the specified periodical is conditional upon receiving positive reviews.
